Making Your Food Go Further was the theme at our cookery demonstration and taster night in Dornoch Social Club. James our chef tutor showed how a few ingredients can be turned into a number of great family meals; A whole chicken, mince, fresh vegetables, cheese, penne pasta, greek yoghurt and some fresh herbs were transformed into chicken salad, chilli con carne, pizzas, and a hearty chicken and pasta bake. Our students learned some top tips including how to easily make tomato sauce, how adding lentils to chilli can bulk it out and make it go further, how bulk cooking can save money time and energy, and how buying a full chicken is more cost effective.
